My son is an avid reader, at 2, he loves to read. However, as we read he gets frustrated. We see a picture in the book and read about it, but he can't reach out and pick it up, manipulate it, and explore it. I say, he should be able to! Engage more senses when reading and offer kids, teens, adults, and professionals a chance to physically manipulate and examine elements found within text.
I am a parent, a teacher, a literacy specialist. I encounter struggling readers who have trouble comprehending text; they can't visualize the story, the message, the meaning. If there was a technology that allowed readers to more fully interact and engage with the text, there could be huge impacts upon both learning and enjoyment potential. What will this next evolution of reading look like?
